Overview:

  • Has served eight (8) sessions in the Utah legislature
  • doesn’t believe in term limits, but believes in self imposed term limits to allow others a chance to serve
  • Pledges to serve two terms in the Senate maximum (eight years)
  • “Government needs to get out of the business of ‘business’
  • Helped to negotiate the 5% flat personal income tax rate (down from 7.5%)
  • Voted for vouchers, although the initiative failed.
  • believes in giving families options
  • Works full time for the non-profit Patrick Henry Caucus
    • National state’s rights guy

    Pros:

    • Has served with dignity and honor in the State Legislature, even though he lost his seat to a map glitch in the middle of his last term.
    • Very conservative, proven leadership.
    Cons:
    • Electing Frank will remove John Valentine from office, who has also served with dignity and honor and has proven to be a great leader in the state legislature.

    Notes:

    This is the toughest race in the state from my perspective.  We’re selecting between two great public servants and one hates to see either one of them go.
