Part 5 – “corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth”

…this line doesn’t even make sense!

Most corporations create wealth either through trade, services, or some value-added benefit which they manifest through the careful application of institutional knowledge.

My employer extracts wealth from me and they pay me a salary for my part in helping to create that wealth.  I gave my consent when I signed the offer letter and gave them the routing number to my checking account for direct deposit.

As for seeking consent to extract resources from the earth, property rights are designed by the government and I don’t know of a single corporation hat takes resources form he earth without first acquiring the right to do so from relevant authorities through permits (often numerous) or by buying the rights form individuals or government after providing due consideration.

This accusation is the central idea on which the entire OWS and OSLC manifesto hinges, and frankly it crumbles to dust under even casual scrutiny.  If corporations take wealth from people and the Earth without permission, then the logic would lead one to conclude that we should abolish all corporations.  The simple fact is that this statement is completely wrong and shows the lack of intellectual depth of the leaders of this movement.

Personally I doubt there’s a formidable intellect among them.
