“In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” – Thomas Jefferson

I think this is more relevant today than at any other time in our history.  We constantly hear about how bright our President is and that we should trust in him the power to decide which pursuits are worthy and proper for the United States Government, but we ignore the fact that many of these violate the Constitution.

In those things which Government has undertaken, it has done none so well as those which were explicitly authorized by the Constitution, and none so badly as those that were not!
